    newer HD channels 'disappearing'

Yes, the newer HD channels do occasionally disappear from my favorites list. I am using the older H20-600 receiver. It just seems to randomly occur.

OTA Tuners (H20) ever go bad?

I recently had the OTA receiver quit on the H20. This was following the last software update (07/11/06). I did a receiver reset and the OTA started working again. I did the reset thru the menu as follows: Menu/Settings/Setup/Reset.

Win a FORTEC MERCURY II from Sadoun!

My FTA career was ended in 1996 when my Toshiba C-band receiver suffered a fatal injury (lightning strike). Winning the Fortec Mercury II would possibly allow me to relive those "unencrypted feed" glory days again. After ten years, what a comeback that would be! Please enter me in the contest...

    E* receiver with D* triple lnb/dish?

Hey, folks. I know this has probably been answered before, but I can't seem to find a link. I am a long time E* subscriber (2 receivers since 1997), but I kept one D* receiver subscribed (Tivo for dvr use). I am not happy with the deteriorating pq with D*, so I would like to add another E*...

Is there a single tuner dvr?

vlad7, you can use your one cable to connect to any D* dvr. You would just not be able to record anything from the alternate tuner. You would only be able to record the channel you are watching. (just connect the incoming cable to one LNB connection on the receiver)

    Picture Quality

The Picture Quality is NOT outstanding, not by any stretch of the imagination. The locals, in my area, are the worst by far. I have both E* and D* and right now I would have to say E* has the better PQ (not looking for a flame war, this is just my opinion). I am down to one D* receiver (Tivo)...

    Tallahassee FL Locals/Horrible PQ!

The Tallahassee FL locals Picture Quality has taken a terrible nosedive in the past 3-4 weeks. They appear to be way over compressed and/or bandwidth starved. If any DirecTV engineering people visit this board, please do something! I have sent several e-mails to both D* and the local affiliates...

    New DVR R-10/Locals Activation Problem

Thanks, guys, for your responses. I allready understood about not being able to get two sets of locals. I was hoping the spot beam was strong enough that I would be able to receive locals when I carried the receiver to either location. According to the transponder map, I am just a little beyond...

    New DVR R-10/Locals Activation Problem

Hey, folks. I purchased a brand new R-10 a few days ago. I am really enjoying it so far. All initial setup and activation went smoothly, except for activation of the local channels. Let me tell you what I did (or tried to do) to obtain my desired locals. Perhaps someone can help me out in...

DISH NETWORK: Address Local Channel Issues

THIS IS RIDICULOUS! Less than 24 hours have passed since I noticed an improved picture on the above mentioned Jacksonville stations. NOW THE VIDEO ON CBS/47 (Channel 9051 or 47) HAS RETURNED TO GARBAGE! The picture quality is WAY TOO SOFT resulting in an OUT OF FOCUS appearance. There is WAY TOO...

DISH NETWORK: Address Local Channel Issues

UPDATE on JAX PQ issue: Today (Jan 1), the feeds on FOX/30 and CBS/47 have shown definite improvement. I think they could stand a little more tweaking, but they are certainly better than they were initially. Thank you Dish Network and/or the stations for making adjustments. I strongly encourage...
