Wow - Indianapolis really gets screwed losing half of the major networks -- CBS and FOX.

It's the compression artifacts on Dish that seem much, much worse - even on slowly moving content like an episode of Law & Order. It's not as bad as U-Verse was when it first came out, but it's certainly gone downhill in the last few years. Not horrible, but not close to the quality of DirecTV.

After some time on Dish and now back home on DirecTV, even though the D* receivers are looking a little old, the PQ of DirecTV is certainly better than Dish nowadays. It's not even a subtle difference anymore. So disregard this thread, and just keep the picture quality where it's at... :)

From the Bon Jovi ad - pretty sure the UI is just something the advertising department whipped up for the commercial. After using the new Hopper 3 for the last 4 days, coming back to the Genie really is like "turning back time."

The latest D* commercials seem to show some other UI... or at least something very different from my HR44..

Good idea. I'll try re-scanning with my AM-21 and see if I can pull it in now. 3 or 4 years ago when I set up my OTA locals it had such a marginal signal that I excluded it.
