Mercury II - IRD to IRD

Yep, I used the cable that came with the merc. Same cable you would use to update the firmware from the pc.

Mercury II - IRD to IRD

Figured it out Either this was just a dumb question (quite possible) that nobody thought was worth answering, or nobody knew it. At any rate I figured it out. In case anybody wants to know, you select "Download Firmware" and "Download Database" on the master IRD. Make sure the slave IRD on/off...

Mercury II - IRD to IRD

I have another Mercury II on the way and I want to use the "Sorftware Transfer" option in the on screen menu to transfer the firmware and data from my current one to the new one. I was wondering if anybody has tried the IRD to IRD download in the Merc II? There are two options (download...

    Multiple receivers, one dish

Thanks guys! According to lumpkin666 it sounds like I'll be ok. The channels I'm watching are all on the same transponder and polarity.

    Multiple receivers, one dish

So there is no way of viewing channels on the receivers simultaneously unless you have a dual lnb? For instance I'm watching tv downstairs and my wife is watching tv upstairs, we can't watch different shows at the same time?

    Multiple receivers, one dish

Thanks for the quick reply. I only have a single LNBF so it looks like I'll have to use standby mode. Can you tell me more about standby mode? Do I have to set the master receiver to that or does it just go into it if you are using the secondary receiver? Does it just mean you can't change...

    Multiple receivers, one dish

I have a true FTA KU set up with a fortec Mercury II receiver and one stationary dish. If I want to add another receiver for another room can I just connect the new receiver to my current one to receive the same signal? If so, will both receivers operate independently? I'd like to have two...

    Nyotb

That's just the info I needed guys THANKS! It looks like that channel 9 is the way to go until I can add more receivers. Won't miss a thing. Iceberg, you mentioned simple boxes? As you can tell I'm a noob with FTA, what are simple boxes? Are they the cheapest?

    Nyotb

I know that NYOTB has a channel that shows horse racing. NYOTB also has a website that shows the schedule of races to be shown. I was wondering if anybody knows how accurate the schedule is on "www.nycotb.com" with what a FTA setup can get. How many channels of NYOTB are available? Do they show...

    FTA and Dish System

Since you're looping one receiver to the next do you have to use the same brand, model of receiver or could different receiver models be used? thanks.

    FTA and Dish System

Does looping work like "daisy chaining" pc video game controllers? Would it be possible then to loop 4 receivers off of one LNB so you could view 4 different tracks at one time? If that's possible I would have to serve pizza, beer and racing forms! ha ha.

    FTA and Dish System

When you say loop from one receiver to another does that mean you still need a dual LNB? Or is only one LNB needed?

    FTA and Dish System

Awesome, then I'm definitely going to order a FTA system. I guess theoretically I could order a FTA system with dual receivers and watch two different tracks at the same time. Thanks for the info!

    FTA and Dish System

New York OTB channels Quick question. Has anyone seen the New York Off track betting channels? I don't understand the programming because I'm a newbie to FTA but I was wondering if it is just one channel or is it 4 different channels showing different races. I looked at the Lyngsat site and it...
