So if I'm understanding this correctly, fundamentally you just need to subscribe to a paid steaming service of your choice, and set it up to stream to a Computer (say a NUC - which I have just happen to have to play around with, or really any PC I have hanging about) behind your home Router...

Rogers (who recently bought Shaw) has stopped their distributors from selling any receivers as they look to rent them to gain more control and revenue over time. More channel changes are coming on July 4th, and I expect F2 will be useless for most folks by year end.

Yes, but my hope is we won't have any ingress this spring on the remaining cables, as we really sealed them up well (fingers crossed!) and replacement won't have to occur. I already have a 900 foot box of Quad Shield RG6 at the Cabin - just in case.

Yes, going to the HEVC codec gives them the ability to squeeze all of their channels onto G1 as the programming takes approximately half as much room as old MPEG-4 it is replacing. I expect they'll move channels in transponder groups. Probably starting in early Spring 2023 - but I'm just guessing.
