Will one Hopper 2 HDD work in a different Hopper 2?

Sometimes the "smart card" is built into the motherboard but an updated smart card may be added through a smart card port. So, not having a physical smart card does not necessarily mean the unit will not function. Try connecting it and see if it works as is. Nothing to lose My guess on the hard...

    Combining 2 orbitals

Your question sounds like assuming reception of both simultaneously. I did not infer stupidity toward you, just imprecision.

    Combining 2 orbitals

Those two satellite orbits are in disparate parts of the sky. You'll not receive them on the same dish at the same time.

Rumor? Eastern arc is being retired? (Yes its just a rumor for now.)

About that same time frame, Being in West Texas we got good reception and little rain fade from 110/119/128, but they put our HD locals on 61.5, so I added a wing dish for 61.5 and it confused the thunder out of my Hopper. PTAT would never record ABC or NBC. So, dish finally just switched me...

What makes you think they will not move your HD locals to WA?

    Eastern arc question

DishPointer.com . Put on your location and 61.5 W for the satellite and it brings up a map with all the info. You can even move your location around a bit to find a clear line of sight.

    Echostar 15 Moves to 119W

It's more a matter of moving slightly higher or slightly lower in its orbit. Higher drifts it west lower drifts it east, then you stop the drift. Length of burn determines how fast the objective is achieved. Burns are relatively short spurts not continuous burns whether east or west.

    Dish Change Question

LNB is a low noise block. LNBF is a low noise block feed. They are names for the same type of signal receiving apparatus, there is no distinction in the naming. DPP is a Dish Pro Plus LNB or LNBF. The hybrid is a DPH LNB or LNBF. It's technically more accurate to say "LNBF" than "LNB." The LNBF...

    Dish Change Question

The Dish 300 was a single focus dish and was the only one they made with no compromise because it has only one focal point. The Dish 500 has dual foci and thus the dish while being parabolic in the top to bottom aspect is splayed open slightly in the horizonal aspect and had to have a larger...

Rumor? Eastern arc is being retired? (Yes its just a rumor for now.)

Well, I looks like I"ll be moving to WA, hope they add my HD locals to 110 or 119 because much of west Texas is on EA due to lack of spot beams on WA. I got stronger signal and fewer drop outs on 110/119/118. They'll probably do away with the SD locals (if they haven't already).

Rumor? Eastern arc is being retired? (Yes its just a rumor for now.)

This sounds like water cooler gossip. Some tech mouthing off with no logic behind his ideas. Without EA satellites New England customers would have a difficult time with satellite dish location since even at Boston the 119 satellite is only 20 degrees above the horizon, trees and buildings...

    No program guide

Did you consult with Dish Network before you cobbled together your "satellite system"? It sounds like you have put together a system made from either incompatible or only partially compatible components and expect it to perform like a system installed (for Free) by Dish Network techs. Why don't...

    Can you help me please

I don't think the 510 is compatible with the current Dish Network signal modulation, i.e. it can't understand the signal.

    WAP (Wireless Access Point) Signal

Perhaps he could put a Dish 500 or 300 reflector in the shop behind the WJ positioning the WJ at the D500/300 focal point therefore concentrating signal from a wider source?
