TheKrell, I just want to find a way to keep the recordings (while also making all the issues I've had since July or so go away. The EHD was a thought, that's all.

I'm mostly hoping my problems will go away if I start over. In addition, my monthly bill doubled after my 2 years as a new customer ran out.

What about recordings on an "owned" hopper3? If I move my hopper3 from one account to another do I lose my recordings?

What are the do's and don't with External Hard Drives? Is it possible to copy files from one hopper3 to an external, then connect the external to another hopper3 and copy the files to it?

So I switched the Trav'ler back to 61.5, did a test installation, waited for the guide to download. All my locals are back (and all my channels are in the guide) but I only have 2 days of guide. This is screwed up. I'm beginning to think the replacement Hopper they sent me 2 months ago is bad.

I tried Sat 72, and yup, I got 2 weeks of guide. Showing VOD, 500 series movies, spanish language, and porn channels. Restarted to 61.5, got all my channels and 2 days of guide.

I wish I'd read this last night, I'da set it on 72 overnight and see what happened. Regardless I will try that soon. It sure would be nice if I could get both 61 & 72.

If I change the trav'ler from 61.5 to western arc or back, or I change my service address with Dish, yes I do a test installation. I also do one if it is giving me trouble. It's faster than a reset, but rarely helps anything. Just checked, I have 2 days of guide.

To Dish support, re: your reply. It's all pretty random. Sometimes one channel will work, other won't. Sometimes I can channel down (or up) until I find one that works, Then go back the other way and they all work. Generally resetting the hopper3 brings everything back. Putting it in standby...
