I just called Dish and I'm stuck with a $5 lease fee even though I'm only using one receiver, stinkin' idiots, they're getting as bad as cable now with all of the extra charges. I'm outta here after my contract expires. My lovely $32 a month bill is now almost $50.

I'm dealing with the same thing, kinda. I just upgraded to a dvr and am sending my old receiver back in and they hit me with a $5 a month lease fee, I thought the first one was free too.

I am sending in my receiver I was using though, so I still only have the one receiver. Dish is sending me a box to send the old receiver back in, so I should not have a lease fee, correct?

My receiver IS plugged into a phone line, so I should not have to pay the $5 lease fee??

I haven't been billed the $5 lease fee until now. Dish told me that for every new customer there is now a $5 month lease fee for leasing the receiver. They are so frustrating, every time you call you get a different story, and a few extra dollars added here and there.
