    My Rentals EMPTY after update!

Set your nightly update to a day time, that way you can cancell it if you have rentals you don't want to lose.It WILL NOT "erase" them without daily update.Remember they are NOT being erased they are hiding out in the DVR using up memory.Try my fix at post #13 on this thread.... Good Luck

Check out my post#13 do what it says if you don't have a xhdd try erasing a few recordings. This process has restored my "lost"rentals EVERY time. You may have to try it twice but please try.Who knows how long Dish will take to fix this and you lose memory every time it happens. Good Luck

krell, do you have an empty dvr? When I emptied my old dvr and refreshed online, did a hard reset all the missing rentals came back to the my rentals folder. Many were duplicats and triplicats.I don't know what the hell your going to do, short of getting a replacement receiver.

Lost a bunch of recordings on 722k

There is NO limit on the Xhdd. The problem with the Xhdd is duplicate programs will be recorded. The receiver dosen't look at the xhdd to see if you allready have an episode. Not a big deal though when you have 1 or 2 TB of space

Another big problem is it will only take 1 or 2 out of many rentals and you just don't notice it.You have to go to dish online and count to see how many your really missing.Like I said a REAL pain in the rear end.Whenever you delete something it will show up in history on the my recordings page.

If you get them back and you have doubles the system WILL reboot when you delete them.Single titles OK but doubles or triples, OMG!!! What a pain in the ass!!! Try my fix and good luck.Let me know if I can help, no sense in you pulling your hair out too LOL!!!!

    My Rentals EMPTY after update!

DishNet sent a "new" receiver to fix the rental problem about 5 months ago. When I transfered all my recordings from DVR to XHDD I was missing about 10 HD hours on an empty DVR.That's when I went to dish online and noticed 20-25 rentals that were in limbo in the DVR.After a hard reset the rentals...

Stopping a download in process. BTW, to delete a rental that is still downloading unplug ethernet plug go to title in my rentals and it will give you the option to delete. Get rid of it and plug internet back. All gone. I don't think the "brains " at DishNet know that trick...
