NEW DISH Pricing as of May 23, 2013

The discussions regarding new pricing and the termination of annual programming have caused me to look at my programming options again; unfortunately, I can't find a comprehensive list that details all of the associated programming fees and charges, and under what circumstances they're...

    Annual Paid Programming Ceased

Slightly off topic, but I've searched the forum looking for a pointer to a detailed list of programming related charges and fees, but haven't found anything. The Dish site lists some fees (like on site repairs, shipping fees, etc.) but doesn't seem to have a detailed list of charges. Where's the...

    Annual Paid Programming Ceased

If what others have stated here is correct, it sounds like I'll be billed at a new, higher rate in May, before the end of my annual contract (October), as opposed to the contract running it's course and then having new monthly rates apply.

    Annual Paid Programming Ceased

Yes, they're applying what I paid, but I'd expect Dish honor the original agreement. Discontinuing annual contracts should mean that I can't renew again, as opposed to ending the agreement mid stream. I'm sure there's a "we reserve the right to change at any time" clause somewhere, but I would...

    Annual Paid Programming Ceased

Well, I was very disappointed to receive the notice. I've been an annual subscriber since 1996. The wording in the letter was a bit vague to me, so I contacted Dish and was told that the annual "balance" that would be applied to the new monthly charges meant I wouldn't pay anything more until...

    Back USB port on 722

It's possible for compressed air to generate a static charge and damage components, but I've never actually seen it happen. It seems more likely that something else happened when you disconnected/reconnected the cable. Perhaps there's a cold solder joint/mechanical issue where the socket joins...

increasingly frequent "signal loss" w/o apparent cause

No, no OTA module. To eliminate as many variables as possible, I now have the coax runs from ports 1 and 2 on the 1000.4 LNB going to the receiver inputs 1 and 2 (triplexer removed). Each of the runs are ~65' from the LNB to the ground block, then another ~20' to the receiver (no wall plates)...

increasingly frequent "signal loss" w/o apparent cause

Just wanted to update this thread since it's referenced in another post..... I continued to see the LNB drift warning and incrementing count of signal losses, and I lost several recordings due to signal loss. My final troubleshooting step was to run a new temporary piece of coaxial cable from...

Does Dish offer receiver repair/exchange w/o a commitment?

I'm wondering if anyone knows whether Dish offers a repair and/or exchange service for receivers for a flat rate or one time fee. The receiver is a 722k that I purchased (not leased). I'm not participating in any new subscriber offers (I'm an old timer; 15 years w/Dish) or the equipment...

increasingly frequent "signal loss" w/o apparent cause

So I replaced my LNB, and at the same time removed the triplexer from the system so that I have two coax runs from ports 1 and 2 on the LNB to inputs 1 and 2 on the receiver. I performed a check switch, checked signal strength, checked system status (it still reported the exact same LNB drift...

increasingly frequent "signal loss" w/o apparent cause

You nailed it.... the T1 and T3 (305?) T-berd was what popped into my head. I used to maintain three DS-3 cross connects feeding telco Rockwell 21130 multiplexers and smaller Fujitsu three channel muxes. Our T3 transport was for proprietary video, but each video T3 had four T1 channels carved...

increasingly frequent "signal loss" w/o apparent cause

Oh..... I thought the -13 was a negative exponent value; that's how bit error rate was always designated for T1/T3 circuits and such. So it looks like it is time for a new LNB. Thanks for the input everyone.

increasingly frequent "signal loss" w/o apparent cause

Well, I checked again last nght, and definitely have the most trouble when switching to TBS or HGTV; all other channels seem fine. The LNB drift indicator gave some hex values that didn't mean anything to me except for the negative exponent value (like bit error rate). The reading was 0X1C...

increasingly frequent "signal loss" w/o apparent cause

I'll check for LNB drift; and for the poster that asked about OTA, I don't have a module installed. I get my off-air channels off-air (directly to my TV tuner).

increasingly frequent "signal loss" w/o apparent cause

I'm looking for help with a really odd signal problem. I've got a one and a half year old Eastern arc 1.4 installation with a single 722k receiver and have been experiencing increasingly frequent "signal loss" messages. The message will intermittently occur when powering up or changing channels...
