DirecTV has crazy retention deals right now

My call came about 3.5 hours before shut off, but I also called to schedule it that same day, so they wouldn't have had any advance notice of my cancellation as in your case.

DirecTV has crazy retention deals right now

Uh... so... nevermind. They just called me and offered $70 off for 12 months. :D I was literally on the check out page for my new streaming service when they called. And I usually don't answer numbers I don't recognize.

DirecTV has crazy retention deals right now

Crazy. I've been a customer for more than 14 years. I've called many times over the years to casually ask if I was in a contract, when my contract was over, etc. (never threatened to cancel as I never really wanted to)... I was ALWAYS offered some sort of discount to stop me from "thinking...

With a Gene HD-DVR, can you do this?

DoublePlay allows you to "actively watch" two different tuners. Watching one show, say "Football Game #1." You hit pause, then hit the down arrow and now you're on the second tuner, say "Football Game #2." Pause and hit the down arrow and you're back to where you left off on Football Game #1...

With a Gene HD-DVR, can you do this?

No, I'm fairly certain not. You could accomplish this with DoublePlay, but you wouldn't need to start recording in that case either.

    We're baaaa-aack

Welcome back. Agreed that Mediacom is the absolute worst. I've never had their cable, but have always hated their internet. Glad CenturyLink fiber service was available when we moved back to the DSM area this summer.

    A couple receiver problems

This is the HR20-700. Is there a best way to tell which dish I have? Not at the house now, but could probably recall some details.

    A couple receiver problems

Yep, a few details I missed. This is a new install as a result of the mover's program. SL3 dish. Everything was working just fine until a few days ago.

    A couple receiver problems

Hi All, Experiencing a couple (possibly related) issues this week, hoping someone has thoughts... Setup: HR54-700, C61K-700, HR23, HR22, HR20 First issue. I went to use the HR20 the other day to find 771 error. Did lots of things... swapped receiver locations, swapped DECA units, and nothing...

    NFL Sunday ticket deals/offers 2016...

Not that it's a surprise, but free with mover's deal.

possible to copy recordings from hr-24 ?

I assume the HR units have to be active to view the recordings? I remember the old HR10-250 TiVo units didn't have to be active to view recorded content.

    New Equipment/Genie Question

Figured. My kids love to set up random crap to record regardless of where they happen to be watching TV at the time. I'd love to train them to record that stuff to a particular receiver if functionality allowed.

    New Equipment/Genie Question

I assume that it's still the case that there are no receivers that will allow you to select which receiver in your whole-home setup you want to record a program to?

    New Equipment/Genie Question

Thanks everybody... this has been really helpful. One more question... What's the story on GenieGo? Again, don't know much about it, and I think it's because I was under the impression that it was only for Genie owners, but it doesn't look like that's the case (ugh). But is it currently...

    New Equipment/Genie Question

Fair point. Are minis charged the same monthly as the HRs? Or are there any additional costs associated with the Genie?
