Rep said External will show up on new receiver because that encryption is tied to the account but the internal hard drive encryption is tied to the firmware in the receiver. My point is that from now on anything I want to keep, will be on external 2tb not the internal.

Yes. No power failure, can't tell if it's a hard drive issue because the system won't get past the "starting up" portion of the boot. Question? Is the OS for the hopper on the hard drive? I thought it was on memory in the unit and the hard drive was just for DVR.

Not sure how I could unpair the remote without the Hopper booting.

Looks like yet another Hopper 3 has died. This one is stuck in a boot up loop. I have 1tb of recordings (including a pile of my wife's Christmas movies) on the drive. Is there any way to swap that drive into a new Hopper 3?

FYI: Running an Asus RT-AC68U router on Time Warner 300mbps internet. Ookla speed test comes in at between 210mbps and 285mbps. I am not using 4k in the house.

So I have been going through a lot of internet issues with Dish on both the Hopper 2 and Hopper 3. Download failures but more importantly a total inability to get Netflix to work on either the Hopper 2 / Joey or Hopper 3/Joey 2 system. ui-113 (can't connect) and nw-101 (no internet) errors...

After having the Hopper 2 system replaced by Dish to solve the Netflix ui-113 error, I'm getting the same error on the Hopper 3 system. It's hit or miss to get Netflix to go. Seems like the logo loads and then if there is a screen flash, it fails w/the ui-113 error. It still shows green...

So you'd have to link the Hopper 2 remote to the Hopper 3 in order to transfer the 'settings' back from the Hopper 2 remote to the Hopper 3 receiver?

OK: Figured it out. From the "Search", if it shows only previously recorded events, and there is no "Record When Available" option, hit the "SKIP BACK" button and the "Record When Available" shows up. Very non-intuitive.

Yes but the Hopper 3 doesn't use the same timer as the Hopper 2. If you read the post, " timers that I had on the Hopper 2 on the Hopper 3. you'd see that I'm asking about recreating them on the Hopper 3.
