Can you do FTA and receive Starchoice with the same dish/lnb? Sort of related to the same topic name, but not trying to use an FTA receiver for Starchoice. :)

Probably better to approach the HOA and try to find some way to make it happen. It would be good to find out if anybody in the HOA is tech-savvy and try to deal with them as much as possible. The easiest path to approval is likely to be through those who can actually understand what you're up...

Nice to read about and is probably a great TV, but even if I had the extra cash to throw down $33k for a TV, I don't think I would do it. There comes a point when value for each dollar needs to be considered and I just don't think I would get enough bang for each buck on this one.

Blockbuster has, apparently, decided that some customers are preferred and get the previous deal for an indefinite period. I like how they say "your plan will not change at this time." They aren't intending to let you keep that forever. The clock is ticking already.

Why call retention if you don't intend to cancel?

The trick would seem to be to sell them to people that D* would not otherwise like to extend service to (bad credit). Aren't they tougher on the credit checks these days than ever before?

I wonder if I could get anything for D* TiVo units... Or maybe I will just keep them.
