Two single LBN's on same dish, same sat

Okay, I've got a bunch of single LNB's and not a single twin output LNB. My question is this. Is it possible to put two single LNB's on the same dish to receive the same sat? I want a single dish, two receiver hookup but the thing is I got almost a 100 single LNB's, so if this is a possibility...

    Is AMC 4 still operational?

Since I am in the southern Caribbean I'm out of Ses1 footprint. Can anyone confirm that AMC 4 KU is still operational? Any info on when it's shutting down? Thanks!

    hotdish 90 on amazonas

I can pick the South American beam up since I live in the Caribbean. Lyngsat shows those channels als ITC bu that's not correct. They're all encrypted, save for two. Satbeams.com has the correct info on this bird.

Reception without a dish - just the LNB

Thanks Adam I never thought of antenna's other than dishes. Interesting to know that there's a couple more options. Still, if any of you did some experimenting with the LNB sans dish, I'd be glad to hear. Maybe the thread should be renamed to 'reception without a conventional dish'.

Reception without a dish - just the LNB

Never thought of the necessity to reverse polarities. Adam: great experiments. I dig the umbrella. Also, do you have any guidelines for making those cone antenna's? i.e. length, creflective materials etc.

Reception without a dish - just the LNB

Let's assume you're located within a really strong area of a footprint and the weather is superb. Would it be possible to just point the LNB at the satellite and receive enough quality to watch tv? I have a setup with a 30 cm dish and the signal is strong. Could I just do away with the dish...

    Looking for a Dutch channel

Hi guys, I live in the lower Caribbean and I'm interested in any Dutch language channel. I know of BVN which is available on Satmex 6 and AMC 4. However, I know that there's more, because my local cable company somehow gets hold of three additional channels called Nederland 1, 2 and 3. I don't...

recommended dish size vs. bare minimum

drBoyd, Right, I should have remembered that from math class. Indeed I'm going to lose AMC4 altogether once the switch to SES1 is made. I'm all out of that new footprint.

Zip rain over here. Maybe we're neighbors. Anyways, I'll check it out tomorrow.

cannot lock on low symbol rates

Guys I just got lucky fiddling with the both symbol rate and frequency settings. I got a weak signal but still. Thanks for all your input!

recommended dish size vs. bare minimum

I guess I'll give it a shot tomorrow. My equipment is so so. Your plane jane $10 LNB from China so nothing special there. I'm just curious if I can get a lock on. In any case, is it possible to couple two smaller dishes to achieve the effect of one big dish? Just a crazy idea.

recommended dish size vs. bare minimum

    Lak7, Unfortunately, I'm out of G16's footprint.

recommended dish size vs. bare minimum

I happen to live in a location that is covered by the outer ring of AMC4 Ku band. My recommended dish size is 130cm, according to satbeams.com. Now I happen to have a 80 cm offset dish. Is it pointless to look for a transponder on this bird or might I get lucky? In general, how much margin is...

Thanks to y'all for your advice. I'll be looking out for a decent LNB or two.

cannot lock on low symbol rates

To torbosat and Updatelee, My locations is just off the coast of Venezuela. I'm located in Curacao, Netherlands Antilles. I'll do some frq tweaking tomorrow to see if I can get a lock on a low S/R transponder. If I'll be able to just catch it I'll know it's the LNB right? Is this the reason...
