I don't actually even have a motor on this one. So I guess if I am aimed at 82, then I have to move the dish to the right a little if I am looking at the back of the dish itself, or standing behind it.

Thats what I was referring to, the ID code. When I am on Nimiq1 right now it shows Nimiq 2 @82 on the top of the screen. My only concern now, is if this ID thing is reliable or not based on what IceBerg said about the frequencies getting confused.

So how would I know then?

So I guess I have it wrong then. I was trying to pick up the few FTA's on 91 that some other members were telling me about. My IRD was set to Nimiq 1,2 at 90.9 but when the signal locked in, the black writing at the top said Nimiq 2 @82.... So I do have the wrong bird locked in ????

Maybe I was getting confused with the transponder frequency being 11811. Not the LNB.

Well maybe thats what I am doing wrong, on the incorrect satellite or something. Ya that 11811 is on there as the LNB frequency. I can change it for the scanning, but it doesn't retain it.

I did save it whenever it asked me to, yes. I just don't understand what I am doing wrong. IF I had this thing aimed at 82 Nimiq2 instead of 91, would it still show a signal when I am on the 91 menus with the different frequency? I did notice before with my sat meter that there was a few birds...

Thanks to you all. Iceberg, I changed the satellite freq. like you suggested. I put the IRD onto the Nimiq 1,2 @ 90.9 and started moving the dish. Wasn't long before I got a good signal that was steady on that frequency. The biggest problem was that when I went out of the menu the frequency...

You said there wasn't much there but some audio and previews? Is it even worth climbing the ladder over? Maybe there are some others that have good FTA channels to offer? Sorry, I am so new to all this. Just trying to make use of the dish thats out there already, or I will just take it down.
