I just talked to tech support and she activated me on the dish hd only plan for $29.99/month. This includes all of the HD channels that dish offers besides the HBO or Showtime.

Do you know the extension number for the CSR you talked to?

I just called and tried two seperate CSRs and they both said no to me also. They told me to get hd, I would have to have at least HD Bronze for 49.99 + tax.

Did you run check switch?

Make sure your skew is correct. Aim for 119, get that locked in. Then run check switch.

I am a voomer and I went with Directv. Directv's picture quality is better than Dish's and they have 1 more HD channel then Dish. Also Directv seems to be more commited to providing more HD content in the future. They are launching 4 new satellites over the next couple years. The first one...

I had that with Philly 57 on my directv system. I hooked the same antenna up to my voom box and the sound worked. It could be an issue with the directv set top boxes.

You may have to move your dish to a higher location. Sat C sits low in the sky and is hard to get a signal from. I have my dish mounted on the 3rd floor roof on my house and I get 90% from Sat C.

I live in PA and have buildings all around me and I get signal strength in the high 90's on all 3 sats. I have my dish mounted on my third floor roof. The HD sat sits so low that you need to be kinda high up to recieve the best signal. Especially for you since you live even further north...

Wow, cable here is $50/month without any premiums. We have 1 comcast hd reciever with HBO and we pay like $70/month. And thats the rate before the $8 increase thats coming.
