Yes, the PI supplies power out to the lnb`s. DIRECTV made it a convenience to include a "out to tv" connection on the PI for video signal. If I leave the PI plugged in (power out to lnb) the receiver can be connected else where in the line, via "splitters".

Thanks guys for the help to understand the new tech....... My guess is the new SWM LNB`s needs more voltage to work unlike the older type that needed very little voltage.

What it is ........we move the furniture around in the room from time to time and the other wall outlet is used when the receiver moves to the other side of the room. I only have two tuners.

I just had the genie upgrade and my wife forgot to tell the installer about one of the wall outputs. The installer just used a two way splitter outside but I really need three. Will this splitter work out side?
