Well the Directv tech arrived today and I described all the symptoms and he went ahead and replaced my LNB, Splitter, and HR23. I replaced the cable Saturday so nothing else unless it is the power inserter. I will keep in mind what you said.
Thanks
Here is the latest. I decided to run a brand new cable from the splitter to the HR23. The power inserter is also on this feed. I hooked it all up and tried it but no dice. I checked the SD box and ofcourse as always it was working. I waited about an hour and tried it again and well it was...
I don't have a BBC at all - from what I read it is built into the tuner. I checked the menu option and Slimline 3 SWM is selected.. Still no dice on getting a signal. At this point I hope the Directv guy shows up and has a DVR in his truck..
I have the SWMLNB so I'm fine just the 1 cable then. Both tuners show 0 signal. I do have one question about how the SWM technology works. Is it a "RF" feed from the LNB or more like a data stream?
I was thinking that it is the DVR myself. A tech is coming out Sunday afternoon so hopefully he can get to the bottom of this. Is it possible to copy the recorded programs off the DVR??
If I understand how the new SWM technology works you only need 1 cable for a DVR and it gets assigned 2 addresses from the Switch. Somehow the switch can send 2 signals down a single wire.
I recently had Directv installed in my house and I have been having trouble with my HR23 DVR. Just wanted to get some opinions about whats going on.. Here is what I have and the issue that is going on.
Slimline-3S (SWM) Dish
1 HR23
1 SD IRD
20v Power Inserter
4 way splitter with power pass on...
