If he has it out on the patio, it may be too far for an HDMI signal, or it may be an older analog set. If the patio set is HD, running component video and audio might be the best option. Component is easier to run at longer distances.
Is anyone using a Slingbox with a Panasat 2700A or similar receiver? We are trying to set it up at work (we use it for SC ETV satellite classes). Video looks fine, but trying to get the remote control working (mainly channel up/down). Are there any known codes for it? Thanks.

As a precaution, you should get the receiver numbers from the seller before purchasing. Then, you can call Dish and make sure the receiver can be activated, and has no outstanding balanaces or is not under lease.
You should be able to call Dish and change your service address to the RV park (include a lot # in case someone else staying there is using Dish). When you return, you can change it back, and your locals will revert back to whatever you get now.
