Do people still watch satellite TV these days

Same here... Prime more than pays for itself in savings on shipping. Any of the other features we use from time to time are just bonuses. Last year our Amazon shipping costs would have been a bit over a thousand dollars without Prime. We also have a Walmart+ membership. While the shipping...

Do people still watch satellite TV these days

Not this 82 year old geezer! All streaming here now, with no intentions of going back to sat.

Do people still watch satellite TV these days

I don't include it because we would have it even if we didn't use it to watch TV. In all the years we had Dish sat service for both the house and the motorhome, we also had Internet service from TWC and then Spectrum. Spectrum gig service is $70/mo for the first year here. They do have a $100/mo...

Do people still watch satellite TV these days

Our AT&T unlimited data hotspot service has held at $23.49/mo for almost 10 years. Our Visible/Verizon unlimited talk, text, and data/hotspot service hasn't existed that long, but the $25/mo price has held so far, although they have added some options at a higher cost. Our Spectrum 100 Mbps...

It may finally be time to say Good Bye

An "Outdoor" account is very much different than a residential account, in that you can start and stop the service at will on a 30 day basis. Don't need Dish for the next month or so? Just don't pay the bill for the upcoming 30 day period. No hassles, no overdue notices, the service just stops...

It may finally be time to say Good Bye

This has me puzzled since I've never had anything but owned boxes. Activating them on what's now called an "Outdoor" account was never an issue.

    EchoStar / Dish’s Path Forward

What channel numbers would they use? There's no standard set except for the OTA channels. Random numbers ok? Each service use their own numbers like cable and satellite? I have our YTTV channels listed in the order we most commonly use them so their quick to find anyway. We no longer miss the...

    EchoStar / Dish’s Path Forward

I agree with scrolling when you don't know what you want to watch, but then we did the same thing on Dish. When we know what we want to watch with our Firestick, we just push the mic button and ask it to find the program. On YTTV, we do have our most frequently used channels arranged at the top...

Question for anyone who has received a refund after cancelling DTV

Refunding to the payment source, your credit card, is pretty common when a refund is offered. More commonly these days, is that your subscription continues to the end of the current paid period, but that does not seem to be the case here.

Move a dish about 15 feet...

Direct drive posts work quite well for wire fencing, since the multiple posts provide lateral stability. But as stand-alone posts, they're very soil dependent on how well they hold. I've taken down a few fences that used this style post in my life, and in most cases, simply rocking the posts...

Do people still watch satellite TV these days

That's a carry over from our RV'ing days. Spectrum cable Internet serves our house and our motorhome when it's parked at the house as it is now. The AT&T and Verizon/Visible hotspot services are located in our motorhome where we're currently living due to our disabilities. I'll eventually drop...

Yes, the Firestick has an Internet connection of course, but the TV itself does not.

Do people still watch satellite TV these days

Highly unlikely that all three of our Internet services (Spectrum, AT&T, and Verizon) would go down at the same time, but if they did, we also have access to our neighbor's Starlink terminal. Other than that, we have lots of books on our phones and tablets. ;)

Do people still watch satellite TV these days

It took about a month for my wife to decide that switching to streaming wasn't all that different from when we switched from cable to Dish. Now she uses the Firestick "Live" listings and voice commend like a pro.

The TV in our motorhome not only isn't connected to the Internet, it can't be connected to the Internet. They can still monitor what we're seeing from our Firestick I suppose.
