    Dish Installs

YTTV has every channel that we regularly watched on Dish for about half of what our Dish subscription cost. We do subscribe to a few other streaming services to watch programming we couldn't get on Dish or YTTV. Since we had those when we had Dish, I don't count them in comparison costs. The...

    AT&T Aquires some DISH Spectrum

They could sell Boost and Gen Mobile to AT&T, and Ting Mobile to Verizon. I don't know how much of a dent that would make in the debt pile though.

    AT&T Aquires some DISH Spectrum

Gen Mobile offers users a choice of AT&T, T-Mobile, or Boost networks. I wonder how that will be affected.

    AT&T Aquires some DISH Spectrum

Before we write off Dish and Boost, does anyone have any numbers on how much Hughes and Gen Mobile are contributing to Echostar's bottom line?

What do YOU prefer? 1000.2 or 1000.4

If you have a 1K4, I wouldn't change anything except to add a DPH42 if you need it for a Hopper 3.

16 years of Dish comes to an end

I find the newer reruns less watchable, since those are the ones I most likely remember over the much older ones, but to each their own of course.

What do YOU prefer? 1000.2 or 1000.4

The 1K2 is frequently used here in the east as well. I used my 1K4 for both east and west with equal ease though. Switching LNB's only takes a couple of minutes. I suspect the biggest problem Dish had with the 1K4 was the cost. The cost of the thicker metal reflector and the more complex aiming...

16 years of Dish comes to an end

If you prefer your reruns ad free, be prepared to pay. The providers don't get the rights to those programs for free.

What do YOU prefer? 1000.2 or 1000.4

For a permanent "set and forget" installation, there's little difference between the two. But for portable use such as RV'ing and tailgating, there's no contest, the 1K4 is the clear winner for ease of aiming. The down side to the 1K4 is the difficulty in adapting it to use the newer hybrid...

    FireTV Stick fails to authenticate

Go to the Amazon app store on your phone or PC and download the app to your Firestick from there. If the Firestick is still registered, it should be on the list of download devices under whatever name you gave it.

    EchoStar Sellects MDA space

A cell service that works anywhere whether any towers are nearby or not? I would think that would be pretty attractive to a lot of people. In our years of RV travel, we rarely ran into any place that we couldn't reach a tower with either our AT&T or Verizon service tied to a good rooftop antenna...

    EchoStar Sellects MDA space

Besides space being a very large place, do we know that Starlink and EchoStar will be using the same elevation? Going even a little higher cuts down on the number of sats needed for full coverage.

I'm not sure I'm understanding what you're saying. If my Amex card is lost or stolen, and Amex replaces it with another card, I can't use it for charges except at businesses I've previously bought from???? That makes no sense at all.

New (to me) Dish Pointer App

Did you click on "Multi-LNB Setups" and then in the sat box to see the list? And clicking on "All Satellites" and then scrolling down the list finds all of the individual sats listed from east to west. The Dish and DTV sats are quite a ways down.

    Why?

High speed broadband is nice, but not necessary for adequate streaming. We're currently at a somewhat remote NY state park in NY's Southern Tier. We've been streaming continuously since about 7:30 this morning (rainy day). So far, we've had just a few seconds of buffering during a commercial...
