Dish is coming this afternoon to upgrade my Hopper. I was going to export my recordings from my oriorigi Hopper to an external drive, but when I go to "Manage Recordings" only 4 recordings are there out of about 30 that are on the DVR! I'm in panic mode! Is there something I could be doing wrong?

If they do, I'll listen. I really don't want to leave them, but I need a service that works and I can't shell out the money for new equipment. And I certainly don't want to jack up my bill $12.99 a month to get a $95 fee waived! That's nuts!

Thanks for the info. I know you can export the recordings to an external drive, but I was pretty sure that you wouldn't be able to watch them without the Dish equipment. I was hoping I was wrong.

My wife watches a lot of the ID Channel, HGTV, TLC, basically anything with home improvement or real crime shows. I watch a lot of sports, mostly NFL and college football, sometimes NASCAR although I didn't watch it much this year at all.
