I have a DSR704 and was told by the CSR that it has to be replaced. We'll see what happens when the installer gets here tomorrow.

I just spoke to a D* CSR who told me that Toledo locals will be turned on "sometime before the end of 2004" and that they "don't have any information on required equipment." D'oh!

Any word on when the locals will actually be available? The D* website still says that locals aren't available in Toledo, and the CSR I'm speaking to at the moment doesn't seem to have a really solid idea either.

This turned out to be super easy. I bought a Phase III oval dish, built it with the correct tilt angle, and hauled it up to the existing mount. Five minutes of attaching cabling to the LNB and six minutes of alignment, and voila! DirecTV. It helps that my azimuth for the new dish was within 4°...

I'm in NW Ohio. I called on Thursday 12/11 and ordered my 811; I was assigned a 12/15 AM install slot. Today I got a call from DigitalDish telling me that they had no receivers, and that my install would be sometime after the 20th. Ack!

Does the 811 have the awful fan noise of the 6000u's 8vsb module? I know there are workarounds for the 6000 noise, but if the 811 is as noisy I'd just as soon wait until there's a fix.
