Since I have neither Dish or Direct I have looked at both forums together with the unsolicited twice a week offers from Dish (one from my telephone provider) and weekly from Direct over many months. I find very llittle difference in the services and clearly some locations will not have a choice...

Its 3 years since I went to Japan and driving even in Tokyo was fraught with drop out changing cells. The subways and major buildings hand their own cells and repeaters throughout and I agree the subways were excellent.

One of Vodafones superb deals to sell to Softbank. I found Japan to have really poor coverage with its 9 cell phone companies especially rural and and also dead spots in major cities.

Now I just hope Dish doesn't get their hands on clearwire. Clearwire should have been Dish's more obvious choice, hopefully Sprint have shown them the way. However both Sprint and Clearwire are still likely candidates for a global company partner or takeover. One of the more obvious companies...

Dish is already old technology in the communications business and its subscriber base is declining. Sprint clearly see their future with a global communicatons company as already Verizon have done.
