I don't understand why dish, or any other tv provider has to pay any local network to have the local netowork single "go through" dish's equipment when the single is free to start with over the air. Can somebody explain that?

It appears that I can do this with the ipad app and no sling. I'm upgrading to the hopper tomorrow so I need to know if I'm going to have to get a sling adapter for the hopper in order to set timers, manage my DVR etc.

What is the sling adapter used for exactly? I just hooked up my vip 622 receiver to my home network that is attached to the internet and the dish remote app on the ipad hooks up perfectly to my dvr. I don't have a sling adapter at all either. Am I missing something?

I am going to upgrade to the hopper and 3 joeys. Currently I have 2 RG6 cables run out to my dish 1000 dish. There is also a second dish that picks up 61.5, this dish runs to the dish 1000 and then the 2 RG6 cables run into my house. Am I going to have a problem with only 2 RG6 wires going to...
