DISH / Blockbuster Announcement Discussion Thread!

Not here. I checked on all the requirements and meet them all. The 622 is one of the receivers listed as being supported but it doesn't work.

DISH / Blockbuster Announcement Discussion Thread!

I have the streaming movies available on my 622 with 635 now. I tried to view an SD movie and found that I would get about 30 seconds of buffering then about 5 or 10 seconds of movie. Just tested my dowload speed at a bit over 10 megabits/sec. I was almost always able to view Netflix HD with no...

Does anyone actually order Pay Per Views?

Certificates I have ordered a few since I have a pile of certificates, even though the certificates don't quite cover an HD movie. Would never do it otherwise. Can't even remember why I have those certificates. Dish sent them, for some reason.

    Albuquerque and New Mexico HD

What do you call that color? Puke yellow/green screen? Well I had it tonight in "Friday Night Lights." Getting a bit old and I don't know the reason for the problem.

    HD in Bedroom ??

OWLink I have a 42" HD set in my bedroom that I have been watching SD cable on. I hate watching SD and the no basement, no attic, configuration of my abode precludes fat cables. There have been several wireless HDMI solutions preannounced for high prices, but none of them have panned out yet...

HD only pack with Missing SD?

There is another real good reason to have the SD channel. Sometimes I see an interesting program, let's say on the History Channel, but it is stretched and therefore unwatchable. In this case you go to the SD equivalent. Ironic that we need the SD version to get the better picture.

Bad news regarding Dish and "DRM"

That used to work for me but I cancelled Netflix last week because I just couldn't get the HD movies (Blu-ray). The theory of this endless list of movies worked for many years but the reality has changed now to a long list of "very long wait." I expect another company will come along that can...

    Mona Lisa Smile

Ok, back to normal now, but can anyone explain how this could possibly happen?

    Mona Lisa Smile

About 15 minutes ago my NBC HD (KOB, Albuquerque) feed of the Indianapolis, New York Giants football game sort of scrolled to a dark static picture of the Mona Lisa painting on a wall with an NBC logo in the lower right corner. I'm not kidding, I swear! Since then, that is what has been...

    L3.60 Released For VIP-622

I have 3.60 this morning. I haven't been having much trouble with my 622 so haven't noticed any changes yet.

    Local HD Dilemma

They have never done anything for me. I have always owned and installed all my equipment. I guess this situation shows the downside of that, but it is still the way I like to do it.

    Local HD Dilemma

I have been able to receive CBS-HD for some time from Los Angeles. I have gotten pretty hooked on it. Imagine my delight to find that all the big four locals in my market (Albuquerque) would be among the first in the country to be available in HD. Especially nice in that I live in a small...

    HD Locals Mapped Down

The Albuquerque HD locals are now mapped down to the same channel numbers that the SD locals were on before. They show up in the guide as simply 002-00, 004-00 and 007-00. It appears that if one wishes to record an SD program more efficently, they can do it from the channels in the 8800's...

    HD Local Sound Sync

Hey, I'm not complaining too much. I'm grateful that I, in podunk New Mexico, am one of the first to get HD locals. I am disappointed to not get the CBS HD that I got before I turned my Dish 300 from 148 to get 129 for the HD locals but I still am greatful for the other networks. If the CBS...
