I would suggest that you have the cables replaced. Even a minor imperfection or overbend can disrupt the hd sat's signal. "Checking" the cable is useless unless an obvious flaw is found (like a metal staple in the line). The tech's are least likely to change the coax over all other possibilities...

KAKU lnbs do work with Phase III dish. You only have to notch the arm of the dish and the lnb slides right in. The signal strength can be good for 101 and 99 OR 101 and 103, if you want all three, then you will have signal problems on one or both of the KA band satellites.

You can use flat cable to get signals into your apt without drilling. Check on ebay for a pic.

Try using composite (yellow, red, white) cables. You'll have to put your tv on video or input mode. If you tv doesn't have composite inputs, then you might want to think about upgrading to a newer model tv. Also, try putting your other dtv rec. on the trouble tv to see if it's still static.
