Incorrect. MasTec is the HSP in Houston, but the home office is not in NC - it's in Coral Gables, FL.

I hate to add to this, but I've seen many houses where - unfortunately - completely ungrounding was the only solution. It goes against everything that an installation technician is taught - but in some cases - like this one - it's the only option. Good luck. BTW - where are you from?

Not only is this completely irresponsible, it's also against DTV guidelines. You've probably never had a problem because it ends up at an HSP and they have to clean up after you. With a signal loss of about 14db/100', you should seriously rethink your policy. I'd tighten up on your phone...

Not sure if you guys have seen this, but just FYI: As of now, only DirecTV D10 (-100, -200, -300) will be capable of this.

Another option: Put your tivo in the central closet, and use the one line running from the closet to your TV as the output feed. Even your phone lines will be there for you! You'd just need a $30 remote extender.

BTW, I did accomplish this with a little bit more expensive modulator. I had one regular IRD, a Tivo, and a DVD player on three different channels. One was channel 67, one 69, and one 71. As long as you have at least 1 channel of seperation, you should be fine. A google search for "dual rf...

What he said. More specifically, the reason why you have this problem is because the cheap RF modulators you buy in stores are not meant to work like this. They are not built strictly, and therefore have a certain amount of "bleedover" into other frequencies.

I disagree, it's normally management at the tech level. If an HSP is not doing QCs or staying on top of their guys, you get a mess going. I've spent the last couple of months cleaning up an office where we had to fire half of the staff, including all management, because the office was crap...
