    Seattle HD Locals

I guess I'm one of the lucky few. I'm on a hill near Manchester looking east over Puget Sound toward SeaTac. If my neighbor below keeps trimming his tree I should be good 'till '08. He's a biking buddy so the odds are in my favor. I like a lot of the Fox programming but since I got HD my...

    Seattle HD Locals

I know what you mean. Fortunately my neighbor is cooperative. The angle is really shallow for 61.5 and if the terrain don't getcha then the weather will. I still lose some of my channels once in awhile, but not nearly as bad as on 129. At my age I don't want to be giving away too many years...

Although some, like me, are able to pick up 61.5 until they resolve the problem.

Did DISH f***up my HDMI again?

Follow-up to my previous post... I received my replacement 622 today. HDMI now works fine. I talked to the CSR that activated the new box about my experience with the first CSR. He agreed that it definitely sounded like a mechanical not a software problem and that he would have authorized...

Did DISH f***up my HDMI again?

My 622 HDMI connection quit working after 4 or 5 months. I can confirm that my problem is definitely mechanical. When the picture first disappeared I walked over to the box to see what was wrong. With every footstep the picture came on and went off. I pushed on the front of the box and the...

Why is dish so chinchy with receivers?

That's what I thought 2 weeks ago. My HDMI went out last week after working since May. I know it's a mechanical problem since the video went on and off with my footsteps, by pushing on the cabinet and jiggling the connector. It worked like that for almost a week. Then it quit completely. I...

    622 L3.60 software - Slow Channel Changing?

The lip sync was very bad while watching the Seattle Torchlight Parade in HD on channel 7 last night. The picture was 1 to 1-1/2 seconds behind the sound. I rebooted and played with the skip but it had no affect. I haven't had a chance to check other programs/channels yet.

Yup, me too. Never bad enough to lose the signal or lock the set though. It acts like its related to compression of fast moving parts of the screen. More annoying than anything. I also noticed that channel 4 OTA is down quite often. Just can't seem to find the signal. 5 and 7 are usually...

    Signal Strength

I suspected from your reply that you might not have seen my post. Glad we finally connected. To clarify, when I said " it will definitely work" I was speaking electrically. Physically it may have problems mating to the Voom arm and may not match the reflector's geometry. If it doesn't...

    Signal Strength

Did you see my post #12? Basicly, my configuration is the same as yours except that I moved my DP single from my Dish 1000 to my second Dish. If you find that your old LNB on your second dish doesn't work connected to the input of the Dish 1000 you can replace it with the DP single from your...

    Problems with 129

If the DP single LNB for 129 on the Dish 1000 fits the DirecTV dish, you could try that but I don't know if the geometry is right. Wouldn't hurt to try I guess. A better solution, if you have access to a Dish 500, is to remove the DP single from your Dish 1000 and mount it on the 500 using...

Is the Dish protection plan really needed???

I agree with you 100%. In effect they are charging you to rent defective equipment. Doesn't make any sense at all. I can't believe they get away with it. When I was with cable, they simply replaced the box whenever anything went wrong - no charge whatsoever. :down

    Signal Strength

With all due respect this is not correct. My Dish 1000 came with a DPP twin for 110 and 119 and a DP single for 129. I moved the DP single to a Dish 500 using an I adaptor, pointed it at 61.5 and am feeding a 721 and a 622 with one cable to each via separators. No external switch is required...

    129 problems

Not only is the signal stronger but it doesn't have the cyclical dropout every 20 to 30 minutes that 129 has. My reception has been almost perfect since I switched to 61.5 and I'm in Washington State. Highly recommend it if you don't need 129 for locals. :up

    622 hdmi adapter?

No problems with my 50" Hitachi either. However, I must admit, the main reason I used an adaptor is because I spent so much on my old cable I didn't have the heart to toss it. The only thing I don't like about the adaptor is that it takes up a lot of room between my 622 and the back...
