Familynet 161 off the air come december?

One redeeming quality is getting the full hour of Jay Sekulow Live which most of my local radio stations only covered the first 1/2 hour.

adth 8009ir to be used as fta receiver

Not bad for a dedicated but extremely limited. I have one of these boxes. I picked it up at Goodwill with remote for $10.00. It will work for FTA however it is not a blind scan box. You have to manually enter every transponder, symbol rate, etc... It also has no way to switch dishes (lnbs) and...

    Red Notice on RTN Channels

This is sad for Ku Band reception. I have been trying to get my set-up back up after we moved and I have had to be creative all in effort to try to get 123w. I am glad PBS moved to 125w as it is right in my small window but losing RTN is a huge blow. I hope they can get it worked out.

Free Receiver of the Week Contest Thread- Satellite AV

The RTN channels are cool. NASA & Pentagon Channel are a must. I also like Mhz Worldview for the occasional Rugby match. The DC Path wild feed was cool. Snow falling on the capital was cool on a projection screen! 24/7 as well as the cam over President Ford's casket was different.

    HD vs Satellite Radio

These two are apple and oranges completely. HD radio has superior sound to Sirius/XM but is limited geographically thus can be come nasty as you leave the coverage area. It is limited by the number of local stations in the area that have opted to spend the 250,000 to upgrade their transmitting...
