    H24 reboots itself

I recently had an HR24 and H24 installed. The H24 randomly (once every few weeks) reboots itself while in use. Also, once it locked up and I had to reset it. Any ideas on what is needed to fix this?

upgrading to MRV...is this a good deal?

I've been a DTV subscriber for 11 years. I wanted to upgrade to HD/MRV so I went to a local installer and asked what they could do for me. I was told they could cancel my account and sign me up as a new subscriber. I got the Sunday Ticket/HD/MRV package for $0. That included an HR24 and an H24...

    Questions on going HD

Dodger, I am confused. I have an SD Tivo now so I see everything in SD and it fills the screen without any distorted images. Would it be different with an HD receiver?

    Questions on going HD

Thanks, Joe. My concern is will the SD channels all be 4:3?

    Questions on going HD

I am on the verge of ordering an upgrade from Tivo to HD. While visiting a local installer, they showed me HD on their TV. On a few of the HD channels, the display was partial screen (4:3 ratio). I was told that was because the commercials were not filmed in HD. Is that so? Later, I began to...

    self install cabin

Jerry, You might want to check with D*. They may provde the cabin dish as part of mover's connection. They did that for me at no charge. The only difference might be that I was an existing customer, not a new one. But, it's worth checking out.

    Low Volume

It's more widespread than that. I don't have HD and it is a major headache on my SD receivers, connected to HD TVs.

    low audio volume

I think it is very unlikely that this low sound volume is an equipment problem, but FYI I have a Hughes Tivo connected with RCA cable to a Sony Bravia. A few weeks ago, we found we had to crank up the volume to about 3/4 of the total as opposed to about 1/4 before that. It was happening only on...

    low audio volume

Videojanitor, thanks for the interest. I really doubt that it is equipment related, but FYI we have a Hughes Tivo connected by RCA to a Sony Bravia. A few weeks ago, we noticed that we have to crank up the volume to somewhere about 3/4 of the total. Before that it was good at about 1/4. For the...

    low audio volume

It is not my equipment, but I only have SD and maybe it is not affecting HD. A lot of people on the DBS Talk forum have complained about it. DirecTV told one poster that it was installing new sound equipment. There is certainly some kind of problem. DTV also said it would be fixed by July 2...

Can I have two dishes in separate locations on one account???

I was a customer for about 9 years at the time, but I don't know if that was a factor or not. Give them a call and they can let you know. If you have it at home and at the vacation home, it is as simple as calling customer service, telling them you are at the other location and reverse the...

    low audio volume

Has anyone found any answers to the annoying low sound volume being broadcast by DirecTV these days? You have to crank it up to almost the max to hear what is being said on the TV.

Can I have two dishes in separate locations on one account???

As someone said earlier, if it is a vacation home and you are taking your receiver(s) back and forth, DTV will change your location with a phone call. That would give you whatever locals are available in that area. We did it for a year or so and it worked fine. We even used the movers connection...
