    Coax Cable Tester?

Thanks guys, I'm still following this post. I'm not sure I understand what you are using Stargazer for a signal meter? Do you mean a Volt Meter or a Signal Level Meter? You mention the Birdog I know what that is I use a Channel Master 1007 IFD.

    UHF Remote for TV 1?

Can I use a UHF Remote to control TV 1 with a 322 and 525 receiver? I want to put the receivers in the basement and control them from the TV's on the other floors of the house. I am willing to buy aftermarket remotes if that will work. I have thought about an IR Repeter but would rather stay...

    Model 4000 DOA?

Again I Thank You, and all who assisted in this. Although it wasn't 100% successful it was close. And somewhat interesting, I learned some things I may never need again but who knows. I enjoy the challenge. I figure the card will be here the day after I have the 322 installed. Anybody need a...

    Model 4000 DOA?

You are the man! It worked, yea..... Kinda, After all is said and done the switch is recognised as a SW64, the receiver finds 110, 119, odd/even. All is good, but noooo, I can see the receiver is finding channels it shows the information at the top of the screen, but the screen stays black...

    Model 4000 DOA?

I have it set up and was waiting for the download, I did a check switch and it found 119- odd/even and was locked on so I backed out of the menue and shut off the receiver. It did still show 148 & 61? when I shut it off so I may have to Clear the matrix as you say. Never heard of that till now...

    Model 4000 DOA?

That is a thought. I might take the time to try that. I'll have to see what other stuff I have in the pile. I know I have a couple old dishes but need to check on the LNB's. What do you think, if I get it to see the 110 & 119 with an old LNB will it update, then be able to connect to my existing...

    Coax Cable Tester?

Thanks Guys, I'll check them out. I knew that I could check for continuity with a Volt/Ohm meter but do not know, if there is a small short, say just one wire from the shielding to the center conductor will that show up? Or would it be so small that a V/O meter may not be sensitive enough to see...

    Model 4000 DOA?

I know they are old I'm just tryn'g to get the 4000 to work while I wait for my 322. I'm sorry if I'm not uo to your standards, the way I see it they were on the shelf why not use them and maybe learn something along the way. I don't know what the crack about "free TV" is supposed to mean but I...

    Model 4000 DOA?

    Coax Cable Tester?

I knew that was a rather vague question. I am looking for something I can use to tell me if my cable has a short or open or if the fittings are causing trouble. What is a TDR? What would a Sattellite or Cable TV Tech use in the field to test cable?

    Model 4000 DOA?

Ok I'll try that, but must say, I have 2 other receivers on this switch a 625, and 322. They both work on all channels, all 4 receivers. Would'nt that suggest that the switch is working properly. The switch is new just purchased last week.

    Model 4000 DOA?

Try'd Again I went back in for some more. The receiver will find signal on 119 and recognise the DPP44 switch as a 64 switch, which is correct. But it will not find 110 and will not update software. Any more ideas? I left the receiver connected and turned off overnight no joy. I turned it on...
