I called Dish about my Hopper not skipping over commercials last week and all I got was an explanation of how it works! GRRRRRRR!! I carefully explained the problem TWICE and the CSR just repeated how it is SUPPOSED to work. OK I said, but it DOESN'T on some of my prime time anytime...

Thanks for the replies. I already thought of ALL of your reasons against the browser and dismissed them all as frivolous with one exception. The exception is security and IMHO opinion the ONLY one with serious merit. I personally would consider a browser app a real positive and useful item...

A HOPPER FEATURE I WOULD LIKE TO SEE It would be nice to have a secure web browser app on the Hopper. If you had that along with print and save capabilities many would really no longer need a home computer. Does anyone know if such an app can or will be done?

In S506 the "pause - UN-PAUSE trick no longer works for me. In fact, when I check CC in the setup, it has TURNED its self OFF!

I have the same or similar problem and have not yet figured out what the problem is. Some of it seems to be related to ptat, but some movies I want to save for when the grandchildren come to visit simply do not show up for transfer even though they are there.

I have the same issues with CC on my HOPPER as every one else in this thread. My wife wears two hearing aids and MUST have CC to watch. I would point out that for me, DISH has ALWAYS had CC issues starting with my first 722 DISH receiver. We have tried everything mentioned here including MANY...

YES! I called DISH and the CSR INSISTED that it was a failing HD and they are sending me a new Hopper! I explained to her that I had NO other problems with recording except for the off air tuner but she again insisted it was a failing hard drive. WHAT A WASTE! Does anyone know what the issue...

One of my favorite features of my Hopper is, of course, the AUTOHOP feature which allows us the option of skipping commercials if we want to. I would love to have that feature for other than just PTAT. Is that a future possibility or is that even possible?
