    UPDATE: just called tech support and we are getting decent signal strength on the corresponding satellites (80-90%), they told me that whoever installed the dish will need to manually adjust so that it can take advantage of the local spot beams. Am I screwed or what?

    Based on that map, it looks like I might be better off going with DirecTV. There is overlapping between Utah and AZ.

    OK -- well that doesn't explain why my other friend is able to get Utah channels in Arizona. According to this map there should be no "spill over" from Utah either.
