    Winegard Travler D* Satellite

The connecting stuff is in the far right corner, overhead in the cockpit. Interface Box, PI, Splitter and any number of items are crammed into a small space. The PI green light faced down and away. The splitter being there was useful, since I was wondering which configuration was used. Oh, and...

    Winegard Travler D* Satellite

Jimbo; you done it! I ran a cable from the C port, connected to my Power Inserter, etc., and voila, it worked. D* booted up, did a bunch of stuff and there was D* on the screen in my motor home. Conclusion - something between the Sat and the receiver had been buggered up! I knew where the AC...

    Winegard Travler D* Satellite

According to the Winegard training video, a 21V power-inserter is part of the installed hardware. See ____ Four "roof top" satellite connecters are in the wall next to where the D* rcvr is set up. So, if I'm correct, then I would not use my own power-inserter. The installed unit already...

    Winegard Travler D* Satellite

The satellite dish is an SK-SWM3, and I did try to connect with my HR44 Genie. When I ran Setup, Dish Config was 17:Slimline-3S, switch type was 01:SWM, and I don't remember if the Tuner was Dual or not. Everything was fine until I checked Signal Strength. There was no signal from any of the...

    Winegard Travler D* Satellite

Bought a 2015 Class A. It has a Winegard Travler Roof Top Satellite. The dish is a slimline SK-SWM3. My rcvrs are HR44 + mini + WVB. Problem. SK-SWM3 is not compatible and I don't intend going backwards to an HR24 rcvr. I do have a portable SWM5 satellite, so this dilemma is not critical. The...

Shouldn't be rooting for the Ben-Gals? :poke....:)

    No Signal from SWM

I've done the reset, dithered away and tilted the dish. Good news: 101 is in the high 90's (approx 98%), 99(cb), approx 90%, 103( ca) in the low 90'S, and 103(cb) high 80's. Best of all, 119 is in the low to mid 90's. All but my home channels (as expected) are now in operation. I'm happy and #1...

    No Signal from SWM

Thanks cinsu. Took a bit of time but the mechanics of AZ & EL dithering is now clear to me. Requires tightening a bolt on each of the dither mechanism. The 2 nuts securing the elevation must be loosened, and one nut for azimuth must be loosened. Pretty slick. Now I'll do a reset and start over...

    No Signal from SWM

It worked. Thanks cinsu. Never mind that it took several tries. It worked. Just takes longer to do things right at my age. Aircraft; no problem! Satellite TV - yikes.:idea

    No Signal from SWM

I have NO 119 signals at all. As I posted to raoul, my azimuth dithering mechanism is actually bending (slightly) metal instead of changing Azimuth. Have to deal w/that first.

    No Signal from SWM

Thanks. I'll give it a try after Christmas is over. In the meantime, the Azimuth dithering feature is not working well. Very difficult to turn the screw, and I stopped when there was metal bending. So I'll need to figure what's up w/that! Elevation dithering- no problem.

    No Signal from SWM

For Texasbrit >O.K. I got 101 up to 95% across the board. But only 99ca responded with avg 86%. 99cb was too low to be useful. 103 Nada! In the process of fiddling around I accidentally used my genie c41 remote on the HR44. Nothing happened. So I hit mute & enter and voila I have 2 remotes...

    No Signal from SWM

Wow. I'm overwhelmed. Thank you for the detailed advice. Time to get to work. Even though I'm sure the mounting post is vertical I will double check, and start another dithering run. I thought high 80's and low 90's on 101 would be good enough. Aside for Jimbo: Go Buckeyes - Beat Bama!!!

    No Signal from SWM

I did that. 99c was in the low 50's & 40's. 103 - nothing. Blank. Guess I'll try some even finer tuning of the satellite dish as Claude suggested. It's not as if I don't have time on my hands. Many thanks to all who have helped (steered) me thru the D* jungle. My WVB and mini Genie are up and...

    No Signal from SWM

Thanks for the feedback. I did return the sat dish to 90 deg. and got the original signal strength back. Q: How do I know if I'm picking up 99 and 103 sats? {trying not to be a pain; just asking. I'm happy to have what I have.:D
