I just thought of another question. Will I be able to watch recorded shows in all 4 rooms, or will it depend which unit a show is recorded on?

yes, Samsung 4K ultra HD...but I've obviously never watched anything in 4K due to having older receivers.

So I should put genie dvr on my main tv...keep HD dvr on my master bedroom tv...move HD dvr to my living room tv...and mini genie on son's tv. And then check to see if I can get a warranty replacement on the HD dvr that has been acting up.

Sorry for the dumb questions (I'm not tech savy). So adding the genie allows me to record more shows, and that's still true whether I have mini genies or my current HD dvrs on my extra televisions? And it also gives me 4K capability?
