That "subscription ending" only applies to updates. The software will keep working (assuming it works now), but you won't be eligible for updated software in the future. Of course, there won't be updated software in the future, so it's just one more nagging annoyance "feature" of the software.

The problem is that the long term customers relied on a regular process that automatically renewed/extended their license when the expiration approached. I'm not so sure we can count on that process anymore.

I don't think the channel list is stored, I think it is downloaded every time the radio turns on. From what I have seen, it still takes a while to populate the list after start up, although it can always quickly pull information about the current channel.

In case you aren't being sarcastic, its the Recording Industry Association of America - you know, the group that sues it's customers rather than come up with a viable business model for the future.

Hopefully they will have the grace (and brains) to open it up not just to not need the servers, but also not to need the radio ID.

TimeTrax's registration is tied to a specific radio ID. If you didn't have the radio when you activated TimeTrax, then you can't use it with TimeTrax.

You would think, even on vacation, that the president of the company could pick up a phone and tell an underling to "get it done", whatever "it" is. Especially if this is something that wasn't in the works before he went on vacation.

The funny thing is that in the early 1990's, the RIAA pushed a law through that dealt with home recording rights. They promised, outright, that they would NEVER sue someone for producing a product that allows the home recording of radio. Period.

Actually, Sirius is the only satellite radio provider that had an agreement that covered the recording features of their players. The RIAA is actually sueing XM for their recording players. XM put those controls on the recorders hoping to prevent the RIAA from sueing, and these controls...

If TimeTrax is truely gone, please consider reinstating _all_ of the deleted posts, back to day 1. There were many posts deleted based upon their questioning and or bucking TimeTrax's reputation and authority, and it would be nice to have the complete record reinstated. Thanks!

While I have no experience with their "Send Activation Key" feature, it is not uncommon for spam filters, either in your client or at your ISP/Email host, to miscategorize software activation notices. I've seen it happen for many, many products, and the smaller outfits seem to get hit worse than...

Are you sure that HT is enabled? Some systems come with it shut off. Just trying to make sure we have all the facts.

Because when it did that, it would lose the front end of the next song. They haven't designed it to record a single audio stream twice (i.e. start the new recording before the old one stops).

You can either split the signal from the XM reciever, or run the line out of your soundcard into your reciever.
