I think the DVR was free but paid like 99 for second DVR and 99 for 4 more boxes if I remember right. Putting the cable company aside I would be out 500 bucks or does D* reimburse?

And what about the equipment? I assume with what I paid for it it's mine?

Thanks for the info. I am aware of limitations. Because of that I have 2 DVRs and 4 HD boxes currently in use. I am moving 2 boxes from one location in the house to another location. I am not adding any more boxes.

Sorry, did search on splitter and a lot of confusing threads as a lot of them had non SWM questions as well. Setup is SWM and Multi-room. Moving 2 boxes from upstairs to basement (building rooms). When house was constructed, only one coax line ran to basement. From the SWM splitter to the run...

I have a feeling the box that I thought did NOT have the problem, had a loose coax connection. Everything is still okay.

Just an update. After swapping box locations, which should make no difference, everything is working perfect! Don't know why but it is. No tech visit. Wish I knew why this made a difference but I am not going to question a good thing.

I have tried unplugging EVERYTHING at once. Boxes, SWM power. :(

Same error message on same one with a brand new coax line. Shorter run even as not going through walls. Even through walls this is the shortest run to begin with.

Had a chance to make a brand new coax line with compression fittings and ran direct from SWM splitter to box that is getting errors, same issue. I reset box, restored defaults, then re-ran setup. Same thing.
