Did anyone try to play hardball with Dish when upgrading? I got a 811 lease (past commitment..), and I'm pretty unappy with Dish at this point. I figure they should lease me a 211 instead +whatever necessary dish, and waive the 49 "upgrade" fee. Otherwise, I can just go cable or DirecTv...

I sure hope they do something better than unhd for us people stuck with 811s... If I miss most of the olympics in HD, it's another nail in the coffin for my relationship with Dish, Echostar and Charlie... On a related note, anyone know if one can upgrade to another receiver for free, or do we...

I'm getting tired of waiting too... Unless something happens really fast, I'm going back to cable. I can't believe I cannot even get locals in HD (I live in Chicago-land, but unfortunately, I can not receive OTA). A major market like Chicago should have been covered..

Why do I have a feeling that Mr. Ergen is watching Voom in his mansion...? Just read that he is the 55th richest guy on the Forbes list. He could take money out of his own pocket and create some HD channels if he really wanted to.

My Yamaha rxv-1400 works. I would suggest to the thread owner to periodically update his post with working or non working ones, so people don't have to scan through x # of pages to get their answer.

I used to have DirecTv, with no problems (well, during the 18 months I had it, I lost signal twice). When I decided to go with Dish, the installer took down my DirecTv antenna, and put the Dish in the same spot. My problem is whenever it rains, or even thunderstorms alerts, it goes out...

Just power it down, unhook everything for a couple of minutes, and restart. It should pick up the channels then. Saw this on my 810 the other day. (of course that receiver is a whole other story..)
