thank you everyone for all the replies. I was able to peak in 97w today with no problem with my super buddy meter. The only thing I'm still confused on is the settings. I understand that there are 2 types of lnb's a standard and a universal, what is the setting for both? Also the TP frequency...

when I put the receiver on transponder freq 12180 does that mean it will only get the channels for that frequency?

yes you can use the 1000.4 dish to receive 110, 119, 129 BUT you have to use a different lnb. the eastern arc dish for 61.5, 72, 77 use a different lnb, it has 2 lnbs next to each other while the 77 is further away . the one you need, it has 3 lnbs evenly spaced apart. hope this helps!!

I have an hr20 directv receiver and I want to know if there is a way I can transfer my programs I recorded to an external hard drive? There is a sata input and a usb input on the receiver. I dont know what those are for exactly but maybe someone can help me. thank you

I wanted to know if I can get the 81/92 satellites from a dish 500? And if so what the settings are, elevation, skew, azimuth? everytime I find specs on it it says a number for the skew that the dish doesnt have. I wanted to see if anyone new what the true settings are. My zip code is 63390...
