    Hopper Freeze and Reboot

Happened to me twice, once yesterday, once today. I see a message that "my remote is controlling another device, press sat..", even though SAT mode was already on. Then when I hit power to the Hopper, the screen goes black, after about a minute it just reboots.

My quest to get DLNA working on the Hopper...

Wow, I just started messing with music, Mezzmo is badass guys. It has smart playlists built in. I was able to build a smart 1970's playlist which plays like a champ on any of my Hopper/Joeys. Bye bye Roku, welcome to ebay!

My quest to get DLNA working on the Hopper...

Thanks for the tip. I was struggling with Serviio as well. It would see the server, but it would never load any media files. I tried all of the different profiles without luck. I just downloaded the Mezzmo trial, it's 30$ to buy, and it worked like a rockstar. Without any config, the Hopper...

Cool, I tried that. Guess what! Immediately my Serviio server showed up once the HIC was brought online.

Public Service Announcement: The Hopper can bring your Internet to it's knees!

100Mbit is $99 per month with Time Warner here in KC. But I don't need all that bandwidth.

My quest to get DLNA working on the Hopper...

So, the HIC arrived today. I went to install, no tap.... So, I had to start a chat session with Dish. They won't send me a tap, they will only send a tech. The tech comes out Sunday. This thing has a pass-through on it, but the tech said "you must have a tap".

    I have to admit...

I'm very pleased with the Hopper and Dish in general so far. There are some bugs and quirks, but that's expected with any new product. To me it feels as if the video quality is much, much better when compared to what I was getting with Time Warner (HD vs. HD, I don't mess with SD stuff).

Umm, that would be okay if I was the only person in the house. It's unrealistic expectation of the average family though. I just shared this so that those who run into issues may gain some insight.

Public Service Announcement: The Hopper can bring your Internet to it's knees!

So yesterday I'm playing a game of League of Legends on my PC. I notice my ping time is up in the 300-400 range where it's usually in the 40-60 range. I didn't think much of this until my game stared, then I could tell it felt very laggy, I would click to move and my guy would stand there for a...
