    I used the media player on occasion. It was terrible but would work in a pinch if you didn't want to pause/ff/rw much. It disappeared a while back. I may have to visit some dark places on the internet to figure it out. I'm sure it is possible, just not sure how much time I want to waste on it.

    my.dish.com doesn't work with VPN

    I use an OpenVPN connection on my router that goes through a server in Chicago. Whenever I'm connected to VPN, my.dish.com won't work and I can't get account info using the settings menu on the hopper.     I've had the same issue with a 622 over the last few days. The first time I rebooted it and it started working. The second time the sound wasn't off for too long and came back by itself.
