    Disney Networks Dispute Recitifed

I originally posted this in another thread about a year ago so the numbers cited have changed a bit - but it is an interesting article in light of this most recent conflict: https://www.cnbc.com/2021/10/10/disney-shift-to-streaming-puts-espn-in-position-of-clinging-to-past.html

    Disney Networks Dispute Recitifed

Part of the hassle with losing ESPN is that the NHL allowed ESPN to be the exclusive carrier of a bunch of NHL games. So even having a subscription to ESPN plus, we’re going to miss out. was never an issue with NHL.TV. Here in Hawaii and also Alaska, it seems the NHL Center Ice package with DISH...

Will Dish Anywhere work in Iceland?

You'll be able to access you VIP 722K with Dish Anywhere if you add a sling adapter to your DVR. I used one for years when I had a 722K. Here's a link at Amazon: View: https://www.amazon.com/Sling-Media-Adapter-722k-DuoDVR/dp/B004JOQSEA

Can Apple Herald a new sports broadcast possibility?

No, they're not playing baseball. I'm sorry if the bolded part of my original post saying that it will be free from local broadcast restrictions did not register. The question I'm asking is that if Apple can negotiate a contract that bypasses the local broadcast restrictions - can other...

Can Apple Herald a new sports broadcast possibility?

If Apple can work this out, what can the sports packages like NHL Center Ice, ESPN+ and others negotiate? From today's Apple event coverage: Apple said that it will air two exclusive Major League Baseball games on Friday nights, marking Apple’s first entry into live sports. Apple said it will...

RSN's Now All Gone - NESN dropped

So really... what is this blackout stuff trying to accomplish? As far as I understand, they want to make sure you watch your local team on whatever they deem is your local team broadcast. So why not - if we pay for/buy the hockey package THEY are charging for - why not simply - based on the...

    2021-22 NHL TV Broadcasts ???

Yes. I tried it on my desktop. Although using a VPN has worked with other networks, ESPN+ pops up a message that says "you may be using a VPN". Looks like I'm out of luck when NY teams play anybody in California.

    2021-22 NHL TV Broadcasts ???

True. At least for the time being. Apparently Disney (ESPN owner) is trying to figure out how to monetize their ESPN holding. According to the following article - ESPN garners high carriage rates from cable, Direct and DISH. But as people cut the cord, Disney has to resort to a much lower rate...

    2021-22 NHL TV Broadcasts ???

This ESPN deal might have been good to make money for the NHL but as a fan - as far as I'm concerned - so far - ESPN doesn't hold a candle to the DISH Center Ice/ NHL.TV setup. Last night's games on TNT not available on the archive as was with NHL.TV. Also, so far, ESPN+ games don't have the...

NHL Center Ice at heavy discount

I agree about not being a fan of all the streaming services. It's to a point that regular TV is turning into a commercial for the stream. Anyway, CNBC has an interesting article about Disney and ESPN+ ...

NHL Center Ice access to games on ESPN+ ???????

A bit more info that Google said came from theathletic.com: NHL.tv is gone. If you subscribed to NHL.tv in the United States in the past it’s not an option anymore and all out-of-market games, not on national TV, will now be carried on ESPN+. For out-of-market games on ESPN+, fans will be able...

NHL Center Ice access to games on ESPN+ ???????

It seems that the 25 games you refer to are the exclusive ESPN+ games. From a Boston.com article: "The innovative aspect comes in how broadly the games will be distributed across streaming services. ESPN+ will stream more than 1,100 games, and also has the rights to simulcast the Stanley Cup...

NHL Center Ice access to games on ESPN+ ???????

Thanks for the link. It's a very interesting discussion going on but nobody came up with an answer to the question of whether access to the games on ESPN+ would be available as with NHL.TV. It's important for us in Hawaii and Alaska because last year DISH broadcast most of the games on...

NHL Center Ice access to games on ESPN+ ???????

Anybody know if this year a subscription to NHL Center Ice will also give access to games on ESPN+ since NHL.TV is no longer?
