I have noticed sine U308 that the Hopper powers up normally most of time without an initial reboot. Curious if anyone noticed this issue improved but is still not cured

My drive is recognized, but when I delete recordings on the EHD the program image remains with the message at the bottom that it was deleted. So far no issue with transfer or watching from the EHD.

Maybe just a 'supplement' to handle the upgrade to Sling. But with H3 there are enough differences just in how menus LOOK that warrants a more comprehensive guide. But considering the on-going changes I can see waiting a few months.

I thought U307 also fixed the power on/reboot issue. Nope...if anything it was more dramatic. It powered up normally, I went into the Sport Bar mode, and suddenly lost video. I rebooted the H3 and sure enough it came up and no further problems. I guess it still likes it's daily reboot.

Yup, but reacts the same plugged into the wall. I have not tired it yet today to see if U307 changed anything related.

I think so. It appears you have done everything reasonable to restore normal operation. It does not bode well if they are sending out defective replacements. Let's hope it is not contagious.

It seems the only ones playing down having to reboot the H3 every time you start it are those who don't have the problem. I can recall there are at least 3 of us with the issue. Now, it does have to be idle at least a few hours before you go through this routine. Maybe some watch enough TV over...

I agree, i think anything with a hard drive benefits from a UPS. It has been a very long time I have had any drive failure on any equipment including DVRs where I've had zero since my first 622.

Several of us are having to reboot the H3 if it has been turned off for longer than several hours. We have been told engineering is working on an update to resolve the issue. When I do reboot it I see a boot screen 2 or 3 times before it is actually is fully up. Not sure this is the same issue...
