I haven't put it on a multimeter, but it should be supplying 5 VDC. I've also tried plugging up the power supply to the micro HD with the USB TTL, but still no luck.

Yep! I like finding those random live feeds where the networks don't bother to encrypt the stream so I can see everything 15 seconds a head of all the cable tv provider's delays. Haha!

Yeah I thought about converting my 90 cm Ku dish to a mini bud, but I figured it would be better just to go all in for the full 8' to 12' bud.

I'm not sure what brand it is, I know the guy who owes it is not using it so I might be able to remove it from his yard and get it for free. I think it's 10 foot mesh dish so probably won't be able to do a dual C/Ku band setup on one dish. I kind of like having two dish on separate bands anyways.
