    Did I touch the Probe!???

I work with these types of components every day. The concerns are exaggerated. As soon as you install it, a bird will sit on it after gorging on your bird feeder and guess what! Your finger print is the least of your worries.

    Pansat 9200HD RS232 Control

You are partly correct. The file format is DDR2 and is not read directly from windows. There is an application avaiable to scan your HDD for these files and pull them into windows. The file becomes xxx.ts and then can be played on the PC or back loaded onto the HDD. It seems to work quite well...

    Pansat 9200HD RS232 Control

Intro I know I am not alone expressing my frustration with the Pansat9200 firmware. Glitchy is an understatement. I have read many forums on this topic and it seems Pansat is unwilling to fix or support (others to fix) there firmware problems. One of my biggest complaints is programming of...

    Homebrew FTA Receiver?

All the STB chip manufactures have application notes, test boards and a vast amount of supporting documentation. Obviously their goal is to sell as many devices as possible. These hardware systems are not tremendously complex. Receive-demodulate-digitize-process-display. Many of the...

    Primestar LNB adjustment screw??

This screw is likely a tuning screw used to improve the match of the feed horn to the input of the LNA. It could also be used to tune the magnetic/electric field to be orthogonal. At any rate if you adjust it, there is virtually no chance you will be able to put it back in the same position.

    What motor?

I have the exact same setup with the exact same problem. I have tried the Moteck SG2100 and the Stab120. Both motors strain when the dish is pointed far east or west. What confused me was the dish would move (with less strain) on some transponders. I found this was due to the increased voltage...

    motorized dish

I assume you have done the obvious, plum mast, set your elevation correctly, positioned your dish correctly relative to your motor. Here is a handy tool, dishpointer.com. I have found a simple sat signal detector to be very helpful when I am on my roof. I am in Ontario and my dish works great...

New to FTA. Watrerproof DiSEqC Switch?

I have the same LNB and had port 1 shorted and blew my cheap switch. Good thing the LNB was covered. I replaced the switch with a weather proof model(see my system desc.)

Pansat 9200 PVR Software Now Available

As Pansat seems to be struggling to publish a PVR function which will actually record the correct Sat/Channel, I have begun another approach. Control through the RS232 port. I have made a connection and recorded the boot sequence output. You can find the new thread here...

    Pansat 9200 PVR / Rs232 Access

In the spirit of testing and the frustration of Pansat 9200 PVR/ their struggles to get this functioning, I have completed some probes of the RS232 port. The goal is to not only download new firmware but also gain control of the basic functions, “record ,play change channel etc.”. We’ll see how...
