Big Brother finale didn't record tonight

I just went through the guide on my Tivo (I use it for OTA) and noticed that the finale was also not set to record on it, even though I have a season pass for BB. I'm on the west coast so it hasn't started yet here, that's a plus. Must be an issue with tribune media.

FOX Programming moved to a digital sub-channel. Will Dish carry?

Oh, I thought it was maybe something like dish network was about to get into a carriage dispute with his local channels, or they're going put banner ads on every HD channel, you know, the stuff that wakes people up in fear in the middle of the night. :)

FOX Programming moved to a digital sub-channel. Will Dish carry?

+1 I'm also confused about this. What is happening soon?

Looking to sign up but have a question

Nope, Directv has lower credit standards than Dish right now, so they may offer the OP a better deal.

Sharing same External hard drive with multiple DVRs

I have this exact same USB cable. It has a built-in repeater, thus allowing it to exceed USB length restrictions. Works very well, never had any issues.

    Is the 612 good unit?

The 722 is worth the extra fee. The 612 is less reliable and does not have as many features, e.g. PiP, upgraded VOD interface, Sling capabable, etc.

    Help me STAY with Dish

Lol, unfortunately also from dish CSRs. Maybe someone from DIRT can confirm which is true?

    Help me STAY with Dish

Incorrect. Make your payments on time for a year and you'll be able to switch to a post-paid account.

    Help me STAY with Dish

I can speak from personal experience that that is incorrect. Directv is more lenient than dish in regards to credit history and offering incentives.

Off to college, would like to retain Dish Network in the dorm room, but will this work?

I've seen assurances posted here that our non-public info is not shared with Dish. If it ever were, I'd be one of the many to leave asap. That doesn't mean the OP is in the clear for stacking, if the audit team ever calls his parents, they will be shut down. Another reason why he should use the...

Sometimes DISH reall burns me up...

Everyone can get a credit card. Bad credit? Get a secured credit card. Illegal immigrant? Bank of America offers a credit card for them too.

Off to college, would like to retain Dish Network in the dorm room, but will this work?

If it's a single pane window, it could very well work. You probably have one if your college is similar to my old school and many others, its campus housing built in the 50's and 60's. Also, keep an eye on any overhang to make sure nothing above is obstucting the satelites. Should not be a big...

Should i go E or comcast?

I'm about to drop E* for cable. Two reasons, it's cheaper and I can use Tivo. I really can't imagine PQ being much worse than satelite's HD lite offerings, but I admit I'm taking a gamble on that part. I can tell you one thing, though, if you go with comcast get ready for absolutely terrible...

I think he was referring more to the poster than the MT2.

    Charlie's Blockbuster will love this.

I use streaming only, so my plan will stay the same price. Physical media is on it's way out, that's the main problem with Blockbuster. Just like record stores, it's a relic of the past.

Noob: Does this configuration make sense?

I'd answer, but I'm in sales (not for dish, though). Sorry!

Tivo is now seen as a takeover target

Yes, and it is awesome. TiVo already has a decent list of streaming video sources pre-installed, but you can add pretty much any RSS feed with h.264 video and voilà, it treats each video like any other TV show, you can watch it instantly or just download the video. It saves and lists the videos...

TiVo Premiere already does all of that.

Heavy data use detected after connecting receiver to internet

What kind of security protocol are you using? If it's WEP, it would be extremely easy for someone to get your password.

Filipino Mega Pack. What is the minimum dish requirement?

You probably need at least a dish 500+ since it's international programming. If you are indeed shooting for 118.7, make sure you set aside a good block of time for the install as it's not as quick and simple to align for as the other birds.

    Broadband out of USA??/=

I've seen people on these boards advising canadians not to plug thier dish receivers into thier Internet connection, so I really don't think it's worth the risk.

    DISH Network Launches Distant Networks

I saw the CDL option too, Marko. Would be nice if that's all that was needed. I've read elsewhere, though, that vehicle regisration is also required. Hopefully a DIRT member can clarify. If vehicle info is indeed required, I doubt an F-150 would have any better chances of qualifying than a...

    SIGNAL~GLASS

Correct, I too have heard double pane usually won't work. I did, though, sucessfully install my dish indoors while living in Chicago. Balcony faced the wrong way, I had my dish in my dining room, with a regular old window (ca. 1980s) in front of it. Worked fine! Oddly enough, my wife didn't...

Dish vs Comcast (not a Dish Network sucks thread; re: rain fade, etc)

There's nothing fun about cable cards. I don't know how your cable co treats them, but our local racket, cox, requires an installer to come out and "install" it. Of course, for a fee, in addition to monthly rent of the card. That's the reason I cancelled cable after having it for a total of 5...

    KBS ( 9850 ) and international migration to 118.7?

The fact that KBS isn't on 110/119/129 on WA would seem to suggest that it would be dropped from 61.5 eventually.
