    How things have changed

I do enjoy going to casinos, but not as a way to "make money" as that is rarely the case. Last year was an exception for me. Its stress relief for me, I take what I am willing to lose, and quit at or even before that. Tons of perks comped (or rather prepaid lol) that are nice to get. And...

    FCC C Band Dish Registration

This is the site used for processing claims when they stole the first 300 MHz: https://web.archive.org/web/20250503053315/https://cbandrpc.com/about-the-rpc/ I figure they will launch a new program when they steal another 100 MHz (or more) in the years to come. It is imperative that all C-band...

Is Hopper 3 ipaddress public ip?

Another thought I had is they were probing a known Hopper 3 port so the ISP just assigned it as trying to get to a Hopper 3 based on the port number, not because it actually had gotten a connection to a Hopper 3.

    FCC C Band Dish Registration

I was going to ask if this was 1980. Seems I remember that "earth stations" (c-band receiving dishes) were actually supposed to be registered back then. Or am I misremembering? Hadn't heard anything about this new registration for interference

    FCC C Band Dish Registration

This kind of naysaying is why people didn't register in 2018. There was a huge fee ($495 -- that's more like $1,000 now after all this inflation in the past 7 years) and people said there would be no benefit to doing so. Indeed, the FCC didn't say there would be any benefit to registering your...

Is Hopper 3 ipaddress public ip?

So what this looks like to me is an incoming connection trying to get it in and it's not trying to get your hopper 3 but rather "Dish Hopper 3" is the name of the incoming device and it's setup that way so that when you see it on your network, you won't think anything of it.

Soon to be 93 W* bird if approved by the FCC

Hopefully, it will be a satellite for us (video and radio)! Since their filing a couple of months ago to request the Ku band, I put an LNB on my 99/105 dish in anticipation. Just waiting for a signal (after approval) to tweak the LNB! We need a "new" (just a few years old) satellite for Ku...

Is Hopper 3 ipaddress public ip?

Thanks for all of the replies. This is probably not a big deal. I did change my Dish Password in an abundance of caution. Probably not needed, but couldn't hurt.

    How things have changed

YTTV ( and the rest) is actually lumped in with cable and broadcast, since it is the same channels, Broadcast via a MVPD and vMVPD counts as broadcast, not cable or streaming, Cable via a MVPD and vMVPD counts as cable not streaming. here- the "other" category represents all television usage...
