    Report your EHD issues HERE!

A few months ago, the 2nd (of 12) 512GB partition on my 6TB Seagate got corrupted and the whole darn disk disappeared. I have yet to fix that partition and have the Hopper "see" it again.

    FireTV Stick fails to authenticate

I gave it a rest, browsed the app store and found it again, and reinstalled it. It's still at 2.5.10 and still won't activate.

    FireTV Stick fails to authenticate

I just ordered a 4K Max for $30, so when that arrives it should solve the speed. In the meantime... Interesting ploy. Shall try that. Edited to add: that strategy does not appear viable since all of my Fire TV devices (of which I have none) already have a green check next to them. All my...

    FireTV Stick fails to authenticate

DishAnywhere doesn't show when I search. I worry my oldest FireTV Stick is no longer supported. This is the old HD version; all the rest are 4K and much faster. (Yes, my wife just complained about this 5 mins ago.)

    FireTV Stick fails to authenticate

Easier said than done. I see no option to check for an update. It's running 2.5.10. I'll try de-installing and re-installing and see if that fixes anything. Edited to add: It's gone and searching for the app again results in nothing to install. :crying

    FireTV Stick fails to authenticate

I'm on vacation and I resurrected an old FireTV Stick with which to watch DishAnywhere. It's been offline so long it demaned I go to dishanywhere.com/activate and enter the code on the screen. This is the result: I can check my device until hell freezes over, but it fails to activate. Got...

    How things have changed

If you're a stowaway! My 5 night cruise to Bermuda is costing me a small fortune. Then there are add-ons like Internet that are outrageously overpriced.

Is Hopper 3 ipaddress public ip?

The actual IP address that the Hopper gets from your router is not a routable address, so "no" that's not public. But the router itself has a WAN port that does have a routable address. It is likely that your WAN address is being probed from various dark corners of the world using the IP...

    Switch From Satellite To Streaming

You could also just reboot the hopper from the Joey.

    Brand new 311

My experience: I bought a Bell 4100 thinking I could put it on Dish satellites and it would update and work like a 111 with extra outputs besides the RF. That never happened. :(

    Can't record

I can verify that I have recorded 2 at once w/o issue (except on SPARK with occasional macroblocking). Now you've got me curious and I'll have to test with 3 at once and see what happens when I try a 4th.

    Dish/Echostar 1st Quarter Report

And every one of my calls to technical support at every level, even though I told the poor benighted CSR that I was happy with my current provider. Kind of sad, really.

More and more streaming FAST channels on DISH

It's fortunately infrequent, but still annoying. Maybe once or twice/hr. The sat channels don't do this unless a thunderstorm comes by.

More and more streaming FAST channels on DISH

Is anybody besides me seeing vertical bars along the bottom of a streaming channel at irregular intervals? This doesn't happen on satellite channels.

Hopper 3 Version 392 is Here

I am having this macroblocking issue on one of the streaming channels (SPARK) that manifests itself on the lower 1/3 of the screen at irregular intervals. I don't understand why that happens at all given' it's streaming.

    Updated 2 Hopper 3 Receivers to H393

My H3, just put back on satellite yesterday, went from H392 to H395 overnight. And unlike H392, my Joey has J595. The Joey remained at J591 for months. Don't see any changes yet.

Hopper 3 Version 392 is Here

For the record, I had to give up on my western wall mount and put the dish on the roof. With the satellite data stream restored, my Hopper is no longer crash-happy. Still on 392.

Hopper 3 Version 392 is Here

Thanks to somebody, possibly Brittany, the "no LOS" flag was cleared and I called yesterday and got an appointment for Monday. Via found an opening and sent another tech out this afternoon to try aligning my dish. Oh boy! The last guy was questionable, but this guy was worse! He actually...

Hopper 3 Version 392 is Here

I am having a remarkably difficult time finding a satellite tech not asociated with ViaSat. Any pointers or search terms? Angi is useless. Google is also useless. Yelp is useless. 20 years ago, this was not an issue but now it seems it is. 20112

Hopper 3 Version 392 is Here

I waited 5 days and called back. The "no LOS" block is still on my account and nobody can clear it. Today I spoke to somebody in Cape Town who claimed that she couldn't tell me who put the block on my account but that that person would have to take it off again. Seems plausible but I think...

Hopper 3 Version 392 is Here

I spent about 90 mins on the phone (mostly on hold) talking to 6 or 7 different CSRs. Via somehow locked my account with "no LOS" which is a damn lie from the pit of hell. It seemed as though I was making progress getting handed all the way up to account integrity (why I don't know) who...

Hopper 3 Version 392 is Here

20 years ago they called themselves Via Satellite and they seem to be the only installers Dish employs in this area. They may have shortened their name recently. Their van has Dish logos prominently displayed. I no longer remember exactly what the tech told me, and maybe he didn't say "Dish"...

Hopper 3 Version 392 is Here

The tech took the dish and LNB back on his truck and left, saying Dish (Via?) would call, so I can't do that test. Anyhow, are you telling me that I'm wrong and the tech, who can get a strong signal on both 61.5 and 72.7 separately, is right and we can't align the dish approximately 10 deg west...
