I would have phrased it differently, but yeah... you're essentially correct. The time for help was the multiple times when I was on the phone with Dish offering to buy and install a Hopper (which they all said no to).

I wouldn't call it "over the top"... and of course... it was a hypothetical... but a very possible hypothetical. If Dish was to get into a dispute with ESPN, that would pretty much render their service useless for my purposes. Basically, the only pay TV that I need... is whatever channel OSU is...

If they (or someone else) had just a locals package with ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, CW, and PBS for a reasonable price, I'd consider it, but that doesn't seem to be a thing anyone wants to sell me. I get by with my antenna, HD Homerun, and Channels DVR, but it would be nice to have another option.
