    Help with upconversion

Does the HD receiver do the upconversion or the HD TV? My TV cannot display 720p, only 1080i. If I want to watch something that is being broadcast in 720p, is it possible for my HD receiver to upconvert it to 1080i? My receiver is a Hughes HTL-HD. thanks :)
